Raphael E. Strauss, M.D., F.A.A.P., F.A.A.A.A.I.

Board-Certified Allergist

Strauss Allergy & Asthma Therapy opened its Westbury office in 2007, but Dr. Raphael (Ralph) Strauss has been a practicing allergist for over 30 years.

Dr. Strauss is certified by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology.

After graduating cum laude from Brandeis University, he began his medical career at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he received his medical degree in 1986. He did his internship and residency in pediatrics at Schneider Children’s Hospital/ Long Island Jewish Medical Center. There, he was recognized with the Best Resident Teaching Award in 1989. He followed up his residency with a two-year fellowship in allergy and immunology at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

Dr. Strauss has multiple professional affiliations, including Winthrop University Hospital, North Shore University Hospital, South Nassau Communities Hospital, Long Island Jewish Hospital, and Stony Brook University Hospital, where he is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Nassau County Medical Society, and the American College and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. He has authored and co-authored a number of publications for professional journals. Dr. Strauss has made several TV appearances as an expert in allergy and has been quoted in media publications such as the New York Times.

Robyn Kreiner, M.D.

Board-Certified Allergist

Dr. Kreiner is certified by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology as well as the American Board of Pediatrics. She is well trained in treating infants up to the elderly for all conditions in the field of Allergy and Immunology.

Robyn Kreiner, M.D. graduated cum laude from the University of Illinois-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science. She then received her medical degree from Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel. She did her internship and residency in pediatrics at Jacobi Medical Center and continued on to her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Montefiore Medical Center.

Dr. Kreiner has presented at multiple conferences including the Pediatric Hospital Medicine conference, American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, and the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology conferences. She is a fellow of the American College and American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and American Academy of Pediatrics, a member of the American Medical Association, and the Long Island Allergy and Asthma Society. She is the past treasurer and current secretary of the Long Island Allergy and Asthma Society.

In her free time, she loves to travel, exercise, run competitively and spend time with her family and 3 children.

Khalid S. Ahmad, M.D.

Board-Certified Pediatric Pulmonologist and Sleep Medicine

Khalid S. Ahmad, MD, Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine

Dr. Khalid Ahmad is board certified in Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine. Raised on Long Island, he graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and received his specialty training at Winthrop University Hospital and Stony Brook University School of Medicine.

He has extensive clinical experience in rare and challenging pulmonary and sleep disorders. He worked as Attending and Clinical Assistant Professor at Stony Brook University Medical Center and as Assistant Professor of Pulmonology in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He was part of a large private practice in Central Florida before deciding to return home to Long Island.

Dr. Ahmad is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and has a working knowledge of Spanish and Arabic.

 

Sara Sussman, MD

Board Certified Allergist

We are pleased to introduce as our new allergist, Dr. Sara Sussman, who is certified by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology as well as the American Board of Pediatrics. She will be treating patients of all ages for conditions related to Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

Dr. Sussman graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in the History of Science and Medicine. She then received her medical degree Tulane University in New Orleans. She stayed in New Orleans and completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans, LSU Health Sciences Center.  She returned to her home of Long Island and completed her fellowship dealing with both adult and pediatric patients in Allergy and Immunology at Northwell Health/Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra.

Dr. Sussman is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the Long Island Allergy and Asthma Society, and the American College and American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.  She has presented at multiple conferences including the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology and the Clinical Immunology Society conferences.

When she is not at work, she loves to read, listen to podcasts, and most of all spend time with her family and two daughters.
